The working principle of a charcoal machine mainly revolves around the process of converting various raw materials containing biomass fibers into charcoal. This process usually includes four main steps: crushing, drying, forming, and carbonization of raw materials, each with its specific working principle and equipment support.

Raw material crushing

  • Working principle: Utilizing the inertia and centrifugal force generated by the rapid rotation of the blades in the crusher, raw materials such as branches, straw, rice straw, peanut shells, tree trunks, cotton straw, tea seed shells, fruit shells, weeds, leaves, etc. are crushed into small particles, generally requiring particle size within 10mm.
  • Purpose: To make it easier for raw materials to undergo subsequent processing and improve production efficiency.

Drying of crushed materials

  • Working principle: Put the crushed raw materials into a dryer and dry them with hot air to reduce the moisture content of the raw materials to within 12%. The drying temperature is generally around 160-250 ℃, depending on the initial moisture content of the raw materials and the performance of the dryer.
  • Purpose: To reduce the moisture content in raw materials for better molding and carbonization treatment.

Raw material molding

  • Working principle: The dried raw materials are fed into a rod making machine (also known as a forming machine), and through the action of high temperature and high pressure, the raw materials are formed into semi-finished products in the form of rods or other shapes. The forming cylinder of the forming machine has a heating ring on the outside, and the temperature can be raised to around 350 ℃ to ensure that the density of the carbon fuel rod is high, the surface is smooth, and there are no obvious cracks.
  • Purpose: To process loose raw materials into semi-finished products with a certain shape and density for subsequent carbonization treatment.

  • Working principle: Place the formed semi-finished product into a Carbonization furnace and perform carbonization treatment in a high-temperature and oxygen deficient environment. The carbonization process is divided into the drying stage, the initial stage of carbonization, and the comprehensive carbonization stage. During the comprehensive carbonization stage, wooden materials undergo rapid thermal decomposition, producing charcoal, biomass gas, and exhaust gas. Biomass gas can be used for machine operation or sale, while exhaust gas is treated for environmental protection through an exhaust gas treatment system.
  • Purpose: To convert semi-finished products into charcoal, while treating the waste gas and biomass gas generated during the process, in order to achieve maximum resource utilization and environmental protection.
